Anja Slijkhuis

This is the second work of new series of four paintings featuring the Bearded Iris, also called Iris Germanica. 

The painting is made in oil on canvas, the dimensions are 40x50 cm. 

The colors and charming shapes of the Iris inspired me to paint series; each Iris Germanica has its own appearance and colors, making it literally a jewel in the garden. This summer I also planted an Iris Germanica myself, and I am very curious to see what this flower will become and look like!
