This painting is the last in the series of four Bearded Irises.

The Bearded Iris is characterized by a hairy, often yellowish "beard" on the falls. Most species come from Europe. The three petals are often associated with wisdom, courage, and faith.

I worked on this series with great pleasure and enjoyed the different shapes and colors that exist within a single type of flower.
